Will you hide yourself forever? Will you give yourself away? Hands move loud within the silence Tell you things will be okay Find the self you lost and then reclaim Some things change and some things stay the same Will you trust your loudest instinct? Will you let the path be clear? Can you show yourself compassion In the moments that you fear? Give the song that sings in you a name Some things change and some things stay the same You were never broken or to blame Some things change and some things stay the same

Tired to be the perfect schoolgirl, All straight A's, no detentions, Teacher's pet, classroom boffin, I tried, where did it get me? Tried to be the perfect worker, Gave my life to my director, Worked weekends, bank holidays, I tried, where did it get me? Can't be the person you want me to be, Can't live this old life, got to be free, Can't be the person you want me to be, Can't keep on floating so far out at sea, Can't be the person you want me to be, Can't you just open your eyes and see? Can't you just love me, accept me as me? Tried to be the perfect girlfriend, Clean house, scrubbed floors, meals twice a day, Took on your dreams as my direction, I tried, where did it get me? I tried to wear all those hats, On a head that need nothing, A head that's mine, mine all mine, I tried, where did it get me? Can't be the person you want me to be, Can't live this old life, got to be free, Can't be the person you want me to be, Can't keep on floating so far out at sea, Can't be the person you want me to be, Can't you just open your eyes and see? Can't you just love me, accept me as me? Me!

about

This is the third annual compilation from Chiptunes 4 Autism, Forces of Neurodivergence!

What is neurodivergence? Neurodiversity is the diversity of human brains and minds – the infinite variation in neurocognitive functioning within our species. We aim to raise acceptance of the concept of the neurodiversity paradigm, or rather, "The idea that there is one “normal” or “healthy” type of brain or mind, or one “right” style of neurocognitive functioning, is a culturally constructed fiction, no more valid (and no more conducive to a healthy society or to the overall well-being of humanity) than the idea that there is one “normal” or “right” ethnicity, gender, or culture." (Neurocosmopolitanism.com, Sept. 27, 2014)

Autistic people do not need a cure. We are not an anomaly. Rather, we offer unique and ingenious perspectives that provide different-colored and add to wider views of the world. Therefore, we propose a world in neuroharmony - promoting acceptance, understanding and empowerment of autistic people to embrace their differences as not defects, but as superpowers and gifts to bestow upon the world.

We would like to thank the massive slate of artists who helped us build our biggest compilation yet! Feel free to visit their social media links on the track information listed, or visit our website at www.chiptunes4autism.org to connect further!
