"Tried Can't" is the fifth track of our, PAULA POWERED, "LEVEL UP" EP released in May 2017.

The moral of this song is that when you live your life trying to please others by being as perfect as you believe is expected, you end up getting nowhere. "Tried Can't" is about the realisation that all the efforts of trying to be "perfect" meant that the essence of self ends up being forgotten and neglected. The chorus is a cry for recognition as the real person hidden behind the "perfect" facade.

The question is: Who were these efforts actually made for? The teacher? The director? The boyfriend? Or, were the efforts made just to hide personal insecurities, feelings of failure, a lack of trust in self? Each person who listens to this song will come to their own conclusions.
