A song which started as an abandoned JANX wip, scooped up by Dinaari and brought to a new level by Glenntai and Flumbee’s contributions.

“My dream is an eventual moment in time. Everything here has ended, and the last humans rocket away from their only home for the last time, heading off into the unknown at speeds we can only imagine. We watch as the blue marble becomes smaller and smaller and smaller before it becomes a faint point of light like the other planets we see in the sky. But soon, those and even our own sun fade out and become invisible to the naked eye. We are not going Anywhere. We are going Somewhere Else. We are going to The Glowworm Quadrant.
At this speed, the universe is but a playground. Nebulas are like the clouds in our sky back home. Entire systems pass like rest stops on a highway. Galaxies, like cities, are few and far between while still being impossibly inumerable. You could drive around forever, like here on Earth, and always find a new stop- a new system- a new galaxy to see. But the mission isn’t to find galaxies or galaxy clusters. We’ve found them all already, by this point. The 1000 year mission is to make it to the Glowworm Quadrant. The mythical land of milk and honey that exists Outside. Where no transmission can reach.
The travelers after generations finally cross the horizon into the Outside. The quadrant is filled with tiny stars, firefly sized flits of hot gas that swarm around any matter heavy enough. Humans are deity sized in comparison. Rocky planets with liquid water are common here, but are the size of grains of sand. What we thought was the end of the road, is simply just another point in an infinitely expanding space. Humans have reached this point and already set up outposts. These have already grown into towns, cities, and nations. There’s nothing else, as far as we can detect. There’s no way to get to whatever’s beyond as our universe is being pulled away from all of the others faster than we can travel, just as the space inside it expands. Perhaps universes are like galaxies, enclosed systems mind bogglingly far apart that interact with each other through space time. The beautiful Glowworm Quadrant is just a piece of our universe that's lost its way, following whatever has the most gravitational sway, like a space rock ejected from an asteroid belt. What is the end goal of exploration, I wonder? To find an answer? Where are we supposed to be? Would you like coffee or tea, the travelers are asked. They don’t know the answer.
Was my dream truly a dream? A nightmare in disguise? A type of purgatory? Perhaps something not post apocalyptic, but post utopian. A time where we have discovered everything there is to discover. Where there’s Nothing left but us.”

DINAARI has appeared on multiple C4A compilations (Volume 1 and 2) under a different name and also designed the covers for Volume 3 and Volume 5: Sensory Fire.
