Maia/RRayen is an experimental artivist who builds its own instruments and interacts with any and every sound. She started her retro-games-career on 2010 recycling toys (circuit bending) and since then, she’s been playing with them on festivals, public events and private concertos. You may have seen her at a crowded party, a squat house, an international festival or a tiny venue. Born in Chubut (Patagonia), Maia travelled to all the provinces of Argentina, playing shows and making electronic and musical workshops in main cities, remote neighborhoods and small towns, Then she started a journey all across Latin America: Bolivia, Brasil, Uruguay, Chile, Perú, Ecuador and Colombia. That was the seed of one of her biggest and most ambitious projects: Feminoise. The past months she broadened her horizon: first she went to Canada to play at Mutek Montreal and went back to Buenos AIres to play at Mutek Argentina, where she presented “.EXE”, a collective performance by Feminoise. Earlier this year she toured went on a solo european tour, starting at Madrid in ICLC (Internacional Conference Live Coding) and Barcelona to play at Festival Cyberpunk. Then she auto-gestionated performances in France, Austria, Ukrane and Italy. Currently based in Playa Union, Patagonia Argentina, she’s playing performatics shows, giving speeches at universities, teaching circuit bending, programming her gameboy and practicing for the next tour!
